Job Description

Thank you for your interest in Galaxy Theatres. Responsible for learning booth operation during a trial period of training with the end goal of becoming a full-time projectionist. Booth staff is responsible for ensuring a quality movie viewing experience and presentation for our guests. This includes running and maintaining state of the art projection machinery, sound equipment, and proper care of film and media. Must be able to work well under pressure and react quickly to problems that may occur. Seeking applicants with interest in computers, electrical equipment, and machinery who are cross-trained in all other aspects of theatre floor operations.

QUALIFICATIONS:  Proven leadership skills. Self-motivator with plenty of initiative. Positive attitude and ability to work well with others.  Ability to do multiple tasks. Ability to work independently.  Ability to communicate effectively.  Personable, professional manner as well as dependable and punctual with excellent attendance record. Must be able to meet critical deadlines. Must have own transportation.  Availability must always be able to accommodate the needs of the theatre.

AVAILABILITY: Must be flexible and able to work days, evenings, weekends and holidays as well as extended hours as necessary.  Open availability is preferred.

  • High school education (minimum)
  • Must be 18 years of age or older in order to work with machinery
  • Must be able to work with basic hand tools and a drill
  • Excellent leadership skills, self-motivation, and initiative
  • Multi-task effectively and meet strict deadlines
  • Booth cleanliness and organization
  • Maintaining inventory logs of all equipment on hand
  • Must be willing and able to troubleshoot issues with projection equipment while working with techs on the phone
  • Excellent sense of priority setting and time management
  • Perform appropriately in challenging situations, utilizing tact, initiative, and good judgment
  • Follow and enforce all policies and procedures
  • Must be able to work on a ladder
  • Displaying a positive, helpful, and patient attitude toward guests and team members
  • Providing a clean and safe environment for guests and team members
  • Ensuring the correct preparation and timely submission of all required reports
  • Knowledge of basic computer and networking (know what a patch cable and a network switch are)
  • Proper and safe operation and maintenance of equipment
  • Must be able to follow directions over the phone
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions, including all company policies
  • Ability to help management with any tasks they need taken care of
  • Ability to identify issue with sound or picture quality
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • 6 months floor staff experience required, with good standing attendance
  • Must be able to lift 50 Lbs, and climb stairs in order to handle booth equipment
  • Must be detail-oriented
  • Ability to work at least 40 hours a week, although 40 hours are not guaranteed.
